The Institute of Pension Management (IPM) is a professional body offering programs that promote learning, best practice and standard of professional excellence in the practice of pension management in Kenya.

IPM was founded in the year 2016, and its programs target Trustees, Trust Secretaries, Human Resource Officers, Fund Managers, Principal Officers, Scheme Administrators, Actuaries, Legal Officers, Pension Officers and Custodians who are involved in provision for retirement benefits.

The Pension Industry has experienced rapid growth in the past decade which has been attributed to, among other factors, the increased level of awareness on the need to save for retirement, bolstered regulatory role of the industry regulators, as well as improved frameworks in management of Retirement Benefits Schemes.

Despite this astronomical growth, capacity building on technical aspects of pension is still an emerging issue advanced by stringent requirements set out in the regulations, the need to adopt global best practices and adhere to accepted profession standards.

IPM aims to be a learning center of excellence in the field of pension management through development of competency based qualifications, promoting research and collaborations that support its members so as to build the required Human Resource Capacity not only in Kenya but Africa at large.
